Dr. Zettler discusses dental veneers in a a recent video located here.
What are veneers?
Veneers are thin porcelain coverings on a tooth which can dramatically improve the appearance by removing stains, cracks, gaps, and other imperfections. Many “movie star” smiles are the result of well-crafted veneers.
What sort of transformation do you typically see after veneers?
Some of the biggest changes in a person’s appearance are made with veneers because almost everything about a tooth can be changed. And because veneers are custom made, they are as much art as science. Color, shape, and function must all merge seamlessly to create a lasting, beautiful smile.
On March 14-15, Dr. Zettler’s study club attended a two-day seminar at Spear Education in Scottsdale, Arizona.

As a Visiting Faculty member, Dr. Zettler was in Scottsdale, Arizona, teaching Facially Generated Treatment Planning at the Spear Center from November 29 to December 3, 2012.
As part of the Open Wide Foundation, Dr. Zettler led a week long mission trip to Guatemala in September of 2012.
The Open Wide Foundation started a dental clinic in Guatemala in 2011. Dr. Zettler donated at the start of the project, so it was very exciting to make the trip to volunteer at the clinic.
This trip was exciting for another reason as well. The Volcano of Fire – located six miles from the hotel Dr. Zettler was staying at – unexpectedly began its largest eruption in nearly four decades. Authorities ultimately ordered the evacuation of over 33,000 people and diverted some flights into and out of Guatemala City.
More information about the Open Wide Foundation -- including easy ways that everybody can donate -- can be found here: www.speareducation.com/openwide/our-story Feel free to ask Dr. Zettler about her experiences as well. Guatemala is a beautiful country, and the people she worked with were kind and generous.
It has been a busy and exciting summer! In May, Dr. Zettler attended the 2012 Spears Faculty Club Summit at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry in Scottsdale, Arizona. This event is exclusive to Faculty Club members, and includes lectures and meetings led by the industry's leading dental practitioners. Dr. Zettler returned to Scottsdale in August and took a mastery level course in advanced treatment planning. Finally, Dr. Zettler started a new Spears Study Club in the Twin Cities, which includes like-minded general dentists and specialists, who are committed to lifelong clinical learning and who meet regularly throughout the year to discuss complex cases.
